BIOGRAPHY

 

Member of ACTRA, CAEA and UDA, Gilles Plouffe is a seasoned bilingual professional actor who has been working in film, television and theater industries for more than 30 years now and training actors for over 25 years. He started as an amateur stand-up comic in 1991, then moved into theater where he worked on plays from Shakespeare, Tchekhov, Henrik Ibsen, Tennessee Williams, Harold Pinter, Neil Simon, from classical to contemporary, from comedy to drama to tragedies, in both English and French.

He has also performed on television in many commercials and many television series such as: FUGAZI, L'ÉCHAPPÉE, UN TUEUR SI PROCHE, LES RESCAPÉS, THE FOUNDATION, 100 FARCES, PRANK PATROL, JUSTE POUR TOI, CANADIAN CASE FILES, VIRGINIE, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK, SCIENCE.COM, et OMERTA III. 

In film, mostly in the independent production arena, he has performed in over 20 movies including CANDY CANE CHRISTMAS, THOSE WHO MAKE REVOLUTION HALFWAY ONLY DIG THEIR OWN GRAVES, THE BADGE, BURDEN OF EVIL, CHOICE : THE HENRY MORGENTALER STORY, NUREMBERG, HOUSE OF LUK et HUNT FOR THE UNICORN KILLER. 

In 2006 he created and co-founded INTENTIONAL DREAMS PRODUCTIONS, a Montreal based non-profit organisation that operates 

PLATEAU THEATRE, providing a place where actors can practice and hone their skills while creating theater and web-series productions. 

 

He is the founder of the GILLES PLOUFFE Actors Studio, a training center for actors inspired from the great New York acting studios where he has been teaching John Strasberg's acting method, the Organic Creative Process for Actors, for nearly 20 years now.
